Updated: Oct 23, 2023

The LGBT Live projects were awarded with by the Alliance for Courage and Understanding. The main prize has been awarded jointly by the authorities of Berlin and Brandenburg since 1993 for exemplary action against discrimination and violence based on racial and other hatred, intolerant politics and various manifestations of xenophobia.

The 2023 award ceremony took place on October 20 at the Rotes Rathaus with the participation of the mayor of Berlin as well as members of the governing senate of Berlin and representatives of the state government of Brandenburg.

Fatal Flash, Founder*and Board Chair*of THE LGBT Live, noted the special significance of the award for an organization that has achieved such significant success in just four years of existence.

"I am especially grateful to those who are wholly and fully deserving of this award. They are my comrades, participants and volunteers of our organization. I am grateful to all of them for their work, patience, commitment to our program goals and belief in our ideals.

"This is a reward for their professionalism," Fatal said after receiving the award.

According to Fatal Flash, the award motivates further work and new projects to support the integration and socialization of LGBT refugees. THE LGBT Live sees it as its mission to strengthen democracy, humanity and prosperity in Europe.

THE LGBT Live was founded in Berlin in 2019 by a group of activists from a group of refugees from Russia who were forced to leave their home country due to homophobic threats. The organization provides counseling and humanitarian assistance to Russians and citizens of other countries who have become asylum seekers or asylum recipients in Germany to escape persecution motivated by hate. Over the years, members and volunteers of the organization have helped dozens of people. Media department The LGBT life e.V.
